Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park

Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park is located in Amador County, California. This park is home to a large outcropping of marbleized limestone with some 1,185 mortar holes, the largest collection of bedrock mortars in North America. The park also features a reconstructed Miwok village and a museum showcasing artifacts and exhibits about the indigenous people who once inhabited the area. Visitors can explore hiking trails, picnic areas, and participate in cultural and educational programs.
